  • Alright Sherlock, you said that what you had to show me has to do with Buffy the Vampire Slayer so I’m here. What is it you wanted to show me?
  • Watson, I am on the brink of a breakthrough! If i can collect DNA from multiple cells, I will be able to study them, combine them, and enhance them to better understand evolution and pave the way for the future.
  • We will be travelling deep into these cells, facing unknowns together and making the world a better place. What do you say?
  • And this resembles Buffy how?
  • Gerr Argghh. Go on yet another crazy science adventure with you? Guess it's Tuesday. Where to first?
  • Well, like the 1992 movie, let me provide a little context first. In the world of cells, there are many different kinds, just as the buffy universe is fairly expansive. Prokaryotic cells are small cells that are the Angels of the Buffy universe, they can stand on their own but they’re a lot less complex and relevant.
  • They are complex and large, with nucleuses to help keep DNA organized in chromosomes, and the main focus of the scientific world. This is because all animals are eukaryotic organisms, including humans. Plant cells are generally the largest so we’ll travel there first.
  • For one thing, they’re missing a nuclues, so all of the DNA just floats around in a single loop, usually just in single-celled organisms, perpetually alone like Angel. Eukaryotic cells, on the other hand, are the Buffies of the cell world.
  • You good?
  • Actually, plant cells usually vary from 10 to 100 micrometers in length.
  • Hey I’m 5 by 5.
