- Stage 1 Outcome: Identifies ways that people use science in their daily lives to care for the environment and the Earth's resources (ST1-9ES). Content: Earth's Resources, including water, are used in a variety of ways (ACSSU032). Students identify some actions which could be taken to care for and use water sustainably, eg turning off dripping taps and/or taking shorter showers (Sustainability and Ethical Understanding).
- Hi. My name is Freda Fish. Come with me on my latest mission... Drippy Danny needs help!
- Hello. I'm Drippy Danny. I want to save water but I don't really know how....can you help me Freda Fish?
- Yes I can, Drippy Danny. There are lots of simple ways to save water. I'll show you four then maybe you can think of some more!
- Turn off the tap whilst brushing your teeth.
- Have a short shower instead of a bath.
- Use the half flush button when flushing the toilet.
- Be a leak detective! Tell a grown up if you notice a leaking tap so it can be quickly fixed.
- Thank you Freda Fish. You're right, those are simple ways to save water. I'm going to talk with my friends and think of even more ways we can all save water. Bye!
