Gatsby and Daisy are spending more time together at Gatsby's mansion so Gatsby had to take action to keep his secret. He fired all of his servants and replaced them with Wolfsheim's buddies. Gatsby knew Wolfsheim's buddies knew how to keep information on the hush.

Tom confronts Gatsby about being an Oxford man.
Daisy tells Tom that she has lost her feelings for him. She also says she hasn't loved him for a long time so pretty much never.
