  • We fought for our freedom! Grab your gear we’re marching to the court to shut it down!
  • The Massachusetts state government is imposing high taxes we can’t afford.
  • Exactly they are going to seize our farms if we don’t pay our taxes and take us to prison.
  • After the revolutionary war, high taxes forced many farmers into heavy debt and threat of prison. War veteran Daniel Shays led the angry farmers to protest and save their land.

  • YEAH! You can’t do anything about this The government wont send anyone Haha!
  • We’re shutting down this court! You wont take our farms anymore!
  • Please stop! The National government is too weak to send an army to save us
  • Farmers shut down courthouses to stop property seizures, exposing that the government was too weak to send an army or keep control

  • Agreed! The Articles of Confederation are far too weak to keep order.
  • Shay’s Rebellion proved our government is failing! We need a stronger national system.
  • Let’s write a new U.S Constitution to create a stronger government!
  • In response to Shay’s Rebellion, leaders met at the Constitutional Convention to replace the Articles of Confederation with a stronger U.S Constitution
