- Good morning students, I am your maths teacher. today I am going to teach you all about Rational numbers. I will share my whiteboard
- Rational Numbers are mixtures of fractions, decimals and whole number Rational numbers are of 2 types :-1. Negative - In which, the numerator and denominator are of opposite signs.2. Positive - In which, the numerator and denominator are of same signs.
- Operations of Rational numbers 1. Addition - In case the denominators are equal, we add them directly.But in the case of the denominators being unequal, we have to find the LCM and the add the final results2. Subtraction - If change the negative sign to positive and change the second number into its addictive inverse. The sum is the answer
- 3. Multiplication - If you have to multiply with a whole number, you have to multiply the numerator with the whole number. But when you multiply with a fraction, you have to multiply the numerator with numerator and vise versa4. Division - First turn the second fraction into its reciprocal and then divide the answer. Simply if needed
- Now Ron is waiting for his next subject to start eagerly. He was very interested in chapter, Rational numbers.
