- First, You need to understand the difference between Scalar and Vector quantities . A scalar quantity shows magnitude but no direction but a Vector quantity shows both direction and magnitude
- Oh yes! And an example of Scalar is length and one of Vector is velocity
- A vector is usually represented with an arrow to show direction and magnitude.

- Since we were not given a direction , it is a scalar quantity
- eg. A car travels 90 meters in 15 seconds. Is this a scalar or vector quantity?
- But if it said 90m due south in 15 seconds, it would be a vector quantity
