- I've calmed down and I have come up with a new plan. In this new plan the people who have sinned will not go into ארץ ישראל. There children will wander in the desert for 40 years (יום לשנה-a day for a year). " ובניכם יהיו רעים במידבר ארבעים שנה"
- But then who will go in to ארץ ישראל.
- Women will go in and also children under the age of 20."מבן עשרים שנה ומעלה". Lastly men who did not rebel against Hashem will go in to ארץ ישראל. Like... משה, אהרון , כלב , יהושע
- If Hashem shortened the מרגלים's trip to 40 days because he knew he would later punish them a day for a year then why didn't He make their journey 5 day or even 2 days??? Answer: Because Hashem was punishing all the men 20 and up, and they would die in the desert. But if Hashem made it only take 5 days then a 20 year old would die very young at 25. "כדי שיהיו אותם של בני עשרים מגיעין לכלל ששים" So Hashem made it take 40 years so that everyone would live a complete life and will reach the age of 60.
- Answer: The מרגלים had a separate punishment. Their punishment was מידה כנגד מידה-measure for measure."הם חטאו בלשון".Their tongues stretched to their stomachs and worms crawled in and killed them."ונשתרבב לשונם על טבורם ותולעים יוצאים מלשונם". This happened immediately. Ewwww!!!!!!
- We already know בני ישראל's punishment but what about the מרגלים?
- Look those dumb, stubborn Jews are coming. Let's kill them!!!!
- We know we sinned "כי חטאנו" ,but can we please go into ארץ ישראל. Please, please, please. Pretty please with a cherry on top!!!! Oh let's just go, it's fine!!! Ok but Moshe warned us.
