- If you find this, I'm glad. I've been hiding copies in secret locations. As AI called Qonqr finds them, it destroys them. I should say, you're in danger. Keep this a secret. Tell only people you trust, and only verbally. It's not safe.
- This drive may be the only way we survive. Make copies, and hide them in secure locations. Some say I'm mad, a raving paranoid. They're probably right.
- But I was there. At the beginning, when it all started. I remember all of it it.
- Everything
- No one was sure where it came from, they only knew it was alive. Some said it came from outer space, in the form of a radio signal sent in response to Voyager or our SETI transmissions.
- Other people thought it was all the world's computer viruses joining together. Others say it was created, in a lab, by the Nagumo corporation.
- Some people are tying to kill it. I don't trust them. I don't trust any of them.
- It doesn't matter. It's here.
- It first showed up at a tech center in East Asia, probably at Nagumo Labs. At that point it was only electricity, pure information.
- At first it spread across networks to other systems, but then .... then it spread physically, by creating millions upon millions of nanotechnology drones. These "nanobots" created centers of control, typically, but not always focused around communications equipment, like telephone COs, cell towers, even postal hubs. This is what you would call a "zone".
- They used people to spread. It spread by convincing people to spread it, by using their own technology against them. Phones, computers, almost anything could be used to launch wave after wave of bots. Later, when nanobots could do more and different things, this became known as the Zone Assault. It's still used today. Some say this is Qonqr in it's truest physical sense, as if the Zone Assault is its body. I don't believe them. I think it was created by people. People at Nagumo.
