- This is the first scene where Ghost's dad chases Ghost and his mom. His dad is now in jail and Ghost doesn't like that. Ghost has learned from this that he is a very fast runner. He wants to use this running skill for good.
- Internal Conflict
- Ghost is the main character of the story. He is very fast. He gets bullied at school a lot by some of his classmates. His life is very tough because he doesn't have a dad. He likes to play basketball with his friends. He thinks that he will be a very fast track runner.
- Rising Action
- I think that Brandon Simmons is an antagonist for the story. He is the kid in the story who is always bullying ghost when he gets a chance. He almost got Ghost kicked of the track team because of what happened at lunch. He is a very mean person and he thinks he is the best.
- Climax
- An internal conflict for ghost is that his dad is in jail for trying shooting him. It is something to him that is very personal and that he does not like to talk about at all with anybody. He thinks about sometimes wanting to have his dad back so his life is easier.
- The rising action of the story is when ghost steals the track shoes from the shoe store. He does this because he wants to have cool track shoes instead of high tops. before he got the track shoes, he cut off the top of his shoes and everybody would laugh at him. When Ghost steals the shoes, he sprints out the door so nobody would catch him.
- The climax of the story is when the coach gets a rolled up paper and hands it to Ghost. Ghost quickly unfolds it and sees that it is a picture of him running out of the sports store with Big reds words that read shoplifter. He didn't know what to say when he saw this. The coach rips up the paper and says, "that's your uniform."
