Storyboard Text

  • Odysseus, the leader that he is, shows exactly how much he cares about his men, by improperly leaving a corpse of his crew, Elpenor, without burial. In Greek Mythology, if you do not properly bury a body, the person's soul is not laid to rest. Odysseus did not consider this when leaving Elpenor on Circe's island.

  • Example 3:
  • Odysseus proves he does not have control over his men, nor their respect, when his crew kills the cattle of the Sun. This, admittedly, is not entirely Odysseus's fault, as Eurylochus organized the uprising and undermined him personally, however, Odysseus should have not let the situation get this far. Odysseus could have either forced his men to keep moving, or further persuaded them from killing the cattle. In retribution, Zeus kills the entire crew besides Odysseus himself with a storm. All of this could have been avoided if Odysseus had managed his crew and explained the situation better, or maybe not letting himselfbe persuaded intostopping on the island he'd been told was incredibly dangerous. Also, feed your crew better.
  • Conclusion:
  • In conclusion, I'd like to rename 'The Odyssey', into 'The 10-Year-Tutorial-On-How-To-Anger-The-Gods-Into-Killing-All-Of-Your-Crew-Due-To-Your-Selfish-Behavior'. Odysseus should have managed his crew better, kept them out of danger, and paid more attention.
