  • Russia in WW1 1914
  • Tsar Nicholas II: WW1 has cost us 17M Rubles and millions of death , I must say our taxes needs to be increased and prioritization of the Army is foremost.
  • We can't afford food, how could we live?
  • Well what exactly is constitutional illusion??
  • White Movement Failed
  • Social conditions worsened as farmers were sent to the army, families starved from the lack of agriculture and food was prioritized for soldiers
  • Transportation for the Army was unorganized and soldiers suffered from overlooked supplies and lack of ammunition
  • Where did Tsar order our boots and bullets?
  • Before Nicholas II left for WWI, he left Tsarina Alexandra in charge of the Russian government
  • Constitutional Illusiona political error when people believe in the existence of a normal, juridical, orderly "constitutional" system when it does not exist

  • Green Armyconsisted of peasants who were angry about army confiscating their grain which Bolshevik justified as necessary for war communism
  • Tsarina was heavily influenced by a man named Rasputin, and was not good at defending the government
  • Rasputin's behaviour ruined the reputation of the dynasty, in which he was assasinated and thrown into a river as people believed it was the only way to maintain order

  • Rasputin was a self-ordained holy man known as the “Mad Monk”
  • I heard he healed Nicholas II's son from a medical condition!!
  • Rasputin's death caused outrage amongst people and as Tsar Nicholas II came back, he was blamed for war losses and was seen to be incompetent. Civilians grew upset of the unorganized government, which led up to February's Revolution.

  • Us Bolsheviks will destroy any constitutional illusions. We will murder and imprison advocates for democracy, constitutions and the freedom of political expression

  • Lenin's tactics to keep civilians from rebelling was to inflict violence amongst its own people by inventing constant threats from civilian enemies. He believed violence was key to establishing and maintaining a Bolshevik state

  • The Zemstvos were a local organization who took care of civilian well beings such as injured soldiers and food distribution

  • Russia's capital of Petrograd moved to Moscow as the central powers continued to advance in Russian territory and the German troops were moving in close. Allied powers who tried to overthrow Russia began sending troops.

  • Communist entrepreneurs grew rich while men and women flourished with jewels and fur. The compromise the Bolsheviks created was a temporary means to the end of domination

  • Rebellious soldiers and angry crowds persuaded Nicholas to abdicate his throne. Equality and expansion of rights felt imminent which would eventually lead to the October Revolution as the Provisional Government called the "Duma" was formed.Workers and soldiers revived the soviets they used in the revolution of 1905 and wanted to claim a voice in ruling Russia
  • Vladimir Lenin was sent back to Russia by Germany, who will soon be known as one of the Bolshevik leaders

  • Industrial Production fell 13% from its prewar level. Leading to the thriving Bolshevik propaganda machine as they set up the idea of workers paradise, and health clinics and daycares were created so everyone could revive the economy. An estimated 300,000 men were killed during the Russian Civil war, along with 250,000 executions made by the Chekhas. The soviet republic was exhausted from droughts, famine, and disease as the russian economy was damaged.
