  • "Noble Brutus has stepped up to speak. Silence!"
  • Brutus' speech-pathos
  • "Caesar loved me, so I weep for him: Caesar had good fortune."
  • Brutus' speech-logos
  • "Who here is so lowly that he would willingly be a slave?"
  • This quote shows ethos because Brutus is showing his trustworthiness. SInce the plebeians trust Brutus, they are most likely going to believe what he says. The plebeians feel that since Brutus has showed his honesty in the past, they trust him now,
  • Antony's speech-ethos
  • "I presented him with a kingly crown three times, which he refused three times. Was that ambition/"
  • This quote uses pathos because it is appealing to emotion. Brutus is showing the plebeians that he loved Caesar and that's why he had to kill him. He is convincing them through his emotions that it was out of good faith.
  • Anthony's speech-pathos
  • "You all loved Caesar once, amd with good cause. What reason then is holding you back from mourning him."
  • This quote is showing logos because it appeals to logic. Brutus is asking a rhetorical question that s making the plebeians think logically. Since no one wants to willingly be a slave, Brutus used this technique to persuade the plebeians with logic.
  • Anthony's speech-logos
  • "He brought many captives home to Rome whose ransoms enriched us all."
  • This quote uses ethos because it recalls a specific event that shows trustworthiness. Antony refers to the time that Caesar refused the crown, stating that he was not ambitious. This technique is used to s remind the plebians of Caesar's non-ambitious actions.
  • This quote shows pathos because it is appealing to emotion. Antony reminisces on the fact that everyone once loved Caesar. This adds to his argument about how everyone hated him for no reason.
  • This quote shows logos because it is stating a fact. Antony stating that Caesar did a good thing for the people and enriched them. This use of logos is supporting his argument that Caesar was not ambitious.
