REALLY PULLED A CHARLIE GORDON, HAHHAHAHAHA
Charlie Gordon, a 37 year old man who has an IQ of 68 and wants to be smart. The surgical procedure has been tested on a mouse named Algernon. Charlie is to be the first human subject if he fits the testing standards. Charlie begins to document everything in his life. 
CLIMAX
Charlie struggles to complete the tests of ink blots and puzzles and Dr. Strauss takes note. Algernon is already much smarter than Charlie because he had already gotten surgery done. Algernon always wins against Charlie in the maze test and Charlie starts to lose hope.
FALLING ACTION
Charlie gets surgery and his intelligence quickly inclines. He learns that the friends he thought cared about him only used him to laugh at. They tried to get him fired from his job but he quits when he find out about it. Charlie's intelligence continues to grow, he can beat Algernon now, Charlie has a harder time with social cues.
RESOLUTION
As Charlie's intelligence peaks, Algernon's rapidly declines and he loses his increased intelligence and dies. Charlie buries Algernon in his backyard, Charlie is horrified and realizes the increase in intelligence is temporary.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO ME NOW?
He researches the flaw in the surgery and calls it the Algernon-Gordon effect, when he finishes his work he has completely regressed to his original state, Charlie is aware of what is happening to him. 
Charlie resumes his old job and tries to forget about everything, but his coworkers and Ms. Kinnean's pity. Charlie leaves New York and tells Ms. Kinnean to put flowers on Algernon's grave.
