Act1, Scene2: A camp near Forres. A captain tells King Duncan of Macbeth's (and Banquo's) heroics on the battlefield. This high praise establishes Macbeth to be a worthy character. King Duncan orders the traitorous Thane of Cawdor to be executed and Macbeth to be given his title.
