Baba, Amirs father is a wealthy man. He built an orphanage. Baba always helped other people in the community and was well respected. His exterior personality was demanding and tough. His wife died while giving birth. He had an affair when he was married with the house's servant. The product from the affair was Hassan. He was aware Hassan was his biological son but did not say anything but still treated him like a son. Baba moved from Kabul to Pakistan to America with Amir. He ended up working at a gas station. He later was diagnosed with lung cancer but was able to see Amirs graduation and marriage.
Ali
Ali is a Shi'a Muslim. He is an acting father to Hassan. Ali works with his son as a servant to Baba and Amir. Ali is kind and tolerant. He had a healthy relationship with Hassan. Ali suffers from partial face paralysis and walks with a limp. After his son is accused of robbery he leaves Babas resistance with strength and determination.
