- Napoleon made a huge offer for the entire Louisiana Territory for $15 MILLION.When we got the Louisiana Purchase the size of it DOUBLED the size of the US.
- The Battle of Alamo
- Captain Lewis suggested Captain William Clark as the journey’s co-leader. Lewis and Clark started their expedition by a boat.
- Oregon Trail
- To resolve the problem of white people living with native americans, Congress made the Indian Removal Act in 1830.The Native Americans had to move out of now what was the white peoples territory, This is calle the Trail of Tears.
- Gold Rush
- Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna was the President of Mexico and was very mad to hear about the uprising. He sent lots and lots of soilders, Mexican to be exact, to San Antonio, Texas.
- The Oregon Trail was a route that led people across the US from east to west. Sometimes, wagons traveled in groups together.
- In 1848 a carpenter named James Marshall found gold in the American River close to a sawmill that John Sutter owned. Sutter tried to keep the secret of the gold to himself, but the secret got out and spread into newspapers all around the world.
