- The poor girl! She is missing her friend, and we must tell him that his love is in Egypt, waiting to be brought back to Greece!
- I shall go and tell him! And I shall help him get to Egypt!
- Your friend aleksis is in great distress. She is in Egypt, a slave, and bids you come to her at once. You must build a boat and bring a few things I will tell you later. Go! Meet me at that port at midnight with a boat.
- I am coming Aleksis. I will be there soon.
- The fairies talked over the matter. Their princess, Ayyi, decided to go and help Akirrius.
- Excuse me, but do you know where I might find a girl named Aleksis? She is a Greek, and may be called something different here
- You should try the Parrien household. They know all about imported slaves, and keep careful records.
- Did you ever sell a girl by name of Aleksis? She had tan skin and brown hair, and a gold hairpiece in the shape of feathers.
- Akirrius had not taken to Aleksis' disappearance well. He had run up a large debt borrowing horses to search the countryside for her. He was feeling all hope was lost when Ayyi came and told him what had happened.
- I sold a girl just like that a month or so ago, to the family of Mali. It is their daughter's birthday, and they are throwing an open party. You should go.
- Ayyi told him to bring a cat, a peacock, and a band of gold. He sailed through long nights and storms, and almost wrecked when he came into the Nile Delta.
- Akirrius asked a local peasant about aleksis. He did not realize that they had changed her name, but the peasant woman gave him a good push in the right direction; the Parrien household. Akirrius went there right away, not even stopping to rest, so great was his fear.
- Akirrius learned that he could easily slip in to the house of Mali, where aleksis was. He instantly thanked the Parrrien woman, and dashed down the street. He found himself in the thick of the party, and searched desperately for Aleksis.
- When Akirrius arrived at the party, he could not find Aleksis. However, she was there; she simply was dashing back and forth from the courtyard putting the gifts in the gift room. She was on the verge of tears as she remembered the elaborate parties she'd visited in Greece. Since the party was open, the ex-poisoners spotted her and wanted revenge...
