When Neil Armstrong was 16 he got his flying license before he got his drivers license. Armstrong then later became a civilian research pilot in 1956.
In 1962 Neil Armstrong joined the space program and this launched his career father. 4 years later Neil Armstrong went on his first space mission called Gemini 8 the main reason for the mission was for mission commander Neil Armstrong to rendezvous and dock with the Agena.

1969 was the most important year for Neil Armstrong because it was mission Apollo 11. This was the most mission that would mean the most to him. With 650 million people watching, this meant everything to him. On July 1969 Armstrong safely landed on the moon and walked on it. Followed by Aldrin 19 minutes later. Neil Armstrong would walk on the moon for 14 minutes before hoping back aboard the ship. This event was the most important for Neil Armstrong.
In 1969 Armstrong won the Presidental Medal of Freedom. Along with many other awards gifted to him. All the hard work he put into space and aviation paied off in the end and he proved hard work paid off.
On August 2012 Armstrong sadly died of a heart disease he was battling his whole life. Neil Armstrong keeps any important message in all of our hearts, that if you work hard.
