- Alfredo goes neighboring with Don Julianand is greeted by Julia at the door. Alfredo fell for Julia and the two start spending more time with each other.
- Resolution
- Alfredo and Julia grew more intimate to the point that Alfredo spends less time with Esperanza. However, Alfredo learned that their meeting on the coconut plantation might be the last as Julia will be returning to her hometown.
- Denoument
- Julia learned of Alfredo's engagement with Esperanza. Alfredo is conflicted between his commitment and emotions. Eventually Alfredo decides to marry Esperanza.
- Eight years later Alfredo meets Julia again but realizes that his feelings for her were no longer there.
- Alfredo realizes that his love for Julia cannot replace his love for Esperanza and he is no longer conflicted with his feelings.
