- This is Ichabod Crane. He is a schoolmaster, and he is also very poor. There is also a person named Brom Bones. There was another young woman named Katrina Van Tassel.
- Climax
- Ichabod wants to marry Katrina Van Tassel, a beautiful young woman. But, he wants to marry her for her wealth and not her love. Ichabod is Katrina's singing teacher, so he gets an opportunity to see her. Also, along with a big house, Katrina also had a castle. Normally, Katrina's father, Baltus Van Tassel wouldn't let any suiters come in to the house. But since Ichabod was Katrina's teacher, Baltus let him in. Ichabod rode on an old horse named Gunpwder.
- Falling Action
- Soon, Brom Bones showed up. Brom Bones wanted to marry Katrina for her love and beauty. Soon Ichabod and Brom get into a fight. After that, both were invited to a party by Katrina's father. The party was held at their castle. Surprisingly, while Ichabod was dancing with Katrina, Brom just stood there silently near the corner. After a long time, he must've wanted attention, because he started to tell a story. The story was about being chased by the Headless Horseman. People gathered around to listen.
- Resolution
- As he listened, Ichabod started to get scared. Fear started to develop inside him. After some time, Ichabod wanted to have a te-te-te-te or a head to head conversation with Katrina. But for some reason, Ichabod felt rejected and left. Ichabod walked home through the dark and mysterious woods. He was scared and filled with terror. Then, he heard something. He started to ride very quickly on Gunpowder. He realized that the Headless Horseman was chasing him!
- Ichabod's heart jumped out of his body. He was very scared. Then, the Headless Horseman threw a pumpkin at Ichabod's head. Ichabod fell of his horse, very injured.
- The next morning, everyone came to look for him, but no one could find him. Near the bridge, the people found Ichabod's coatand hat, but no Ichabod. Soon, Brom Bones married Katrina Van Tasse.l.
