I am a solid. This is because my molecules are close together and don't move.
Oh no Mr. Snowman!! You are starting to get small and you are dripping. What is going on?
The sun is warm and starting to melt me .My molecules are moving around now and talking to each other.
Hello I am Rileigh and I am going to tell you what I have learned about Matter. Matter is anything that has weight and takes up space. We are going to learn about matter and three of its properties.
It is time make some hot chocolate. The water is boiling and very hot, which is causing steam to come out of the pot. This steam is a gas which is the last form of matter.
Matter has 3 main forms. The first is Solid. It is cold and has snowed at my house. Snow is a solid.
Color and Size are Physical Properties of Matter. The color of the ball is Orange and the size of the flowers are big. These can be measured without changing anything.
The next form of Matter is Liquid. The sun has come out at my house, and the snow is turning to water. Water is a liquid. The temperature is warming up and the sun is warm, so it is melting the ice and snow.
Flammable is a Chemical Property. You cannot tell by looking at the flames how easy it will burn.
The last form of Matter is Gas. With gas, the liquid evaporates into steam. The molecules are moving around freely and very fast.
Properties of matter is important. The properties of matters can change the identity of the substance or it can't. If it doesn't change the identity of the substance it is called Physical Properties.
If the identity of the substance changes into one or more new substances then it is called a Chemical Property.
