Storyboard Text
- After escaping from the land of from the land of Cicones, Zeus sent out a nine-day storm. After the storm Odysseus and his crew got to the land of the Lotus-Eaters.
- After some of Odysseus's crew is given some of the intoxicating fruit of the lotus flower, his crew forget all about going home and focus on nothing but getting more fruit. Odysseus is able to save his men only by dragging them back to his ship and locking them up.
- Odysseus and his crew sail to the land of the one eyed giants known as the Cyclops. He and his men eventually arrive at the land of the cyclops taking some of the supplies they find in a cave with no inhabitant.
- The inhabitant of the cave eventually returns to find Odysseus and his men. At first, the cyclops shows hospitality to them and introduces himself a Polyphemus, but then turns against them and eats a few of Odysseus's men, locking up the rest and saving them for a later time.
- Odysseus and his crew are able to outsmart Polyphemus by hardening a wooden staff he found in the cave in a fire and getting the cyclops drunk on wine, While he is passed out the men drive the staff into the cyclop's eye.
- The next morning the group of men are able to sneak by the now blind Polyphemus and get out of the cave. Once they make it out of the cave, they are able to cling to the bellies of the cyclop's sheep and sneak off the island back to their ship.
