Storyboard Description
Elizabeth has been planning on having a movie night with her son Kyle. Kyle had forgotten about that, and made decisions to hang out with his friends. His mother feels very upset, and tells his son that she's going to be out of town soon. When Kyle returns home he is left with unanswered questions.
Storyboard Text
- Hey mom! I'm heading out with Tim and Liza.
- Kyle I thought we were going to have movie night.
- Elizabeth had been planning a special movie night with her son. They always did this every year. Kyle knew that his mother wanted to do this again. He told her that his friends would not like it if he ditched them. His mother admitted to him that today was the last time they'll ever see each other this year. His mother works and travels across the country helping people in need. Kyle just stood there and waited for his mother to give up. Elizabeth finally gave up and let her son go out for the day.
- I think I was a little too hard on my mom. Maybe it's better that I go back and spend some time with my mom. You never know what will happen. Everyone's life is frittered away by detail. I feel guilty for what I've done.
- "Boom!...Crash!...Crssh!", came a sudden sound from the living room. Elizabeth jumped when she heard it upstairs. She walked slowly down the stairs but her steps were not so quiet when a thief suddenly ran to the door, and outside the house. Elizabeth was so frightened that she fell to the ground and suffered a heart attack.
- Oh no, mom!
- As soon as Kyle came home. He found his mother laying unconscious on the floor. Kyle immediately called 911, and they rushed them both to the hospital.
- Kyle''s mother survived her heart attack. The doctors told Kyle that she sustained some injuries to the head from her fall. At that moment Kyle realized that many things can happen at a blink of an eye. You just got to be ready to witness it.
- I'm sorry mommy. I should've stayed...
