- Raven Wilkinson, you are officially in the Ballet De Monte Carlo.
- What is that skin?
- Since Raven Wilkinson was a young girl, she loved ballet and wanted to be a dancer. She was taken to the theatre often, which gave her a chance to have interest in dancing.
- White Klan Gowns
- Raven Wilkinson was the first African-American to dance for a major classical music company. She was the only black African-American to join the Ballet Russe De Monte Carlo.
- There were white men that didn't approve of Raven dancing on stage because of her skin, Raven constantly had to wear light colored makeup on stage. But, that didn't stop her. She always still went on stage despite what others think.
- Raven Wilkinson spotted a white clan gowns at her hotel before the performance. News say while klan gowns are after African- Americans. Frightened about her safety, she chose to stay locked up inside her room watching a burning cross, instead of going on stage.
- Raven Wilkinson paved the path for other young black dancers to have the courage to hop on stage. She was also the mentor and inspiration for present-day Misty copeland.
- Raven Wilkinson is a hero to remember for being brave and standing up for herself. She will forever be remembered in the ballet community where she changed the way they treated her.
