Page 7: We meet Tess Kendrick the Main Character of the Story. She is a smart, and reliable 16 year old girl who lives on a ranch with her grandpa and is from Montana, USA. Early on we learn that she has been struggling in school and in life as a whole. She has been falling asleep in class, skipping assignments, and has been skipping school. So far we just have had a introduction to the book and characters.

Page 11: Tess is Approached by her sister Ivy who left home 3 years ago and has been ghosting her family. Not answering phone calls, Visiting Home, etc. In this scene we can see Ivy asking her sister and her Grandpa whether they want to move to D.C with her. Ivy is concerned with her Grandpa's health and wants them to move to Washington with her for this reason. Tess is angry at first but agrees to going.

Page 14: Tess and Ivy arrive at the D.C Airport where they will now live, Gramps was dropped off at a long term care facility in Boston and will stay there instead of coming to Washington with Tess and Ivy. They had a safe flight and they are now getting ready to go to downtown D.C.

Page 146: Tess is investigating the death of Edmund Pierce, when she was attacked and kidnapped. She had been drugged and taken to a basement by her attacker.
Page 147: In the basement Tess finds out she had been drugged, un clothed, and zip-tied. As she was stuck in a basement she had time to think of who did this to her, and who killed Edmund Pierce. She comes to the conclusion that it was Damien Kostas.
Page 174: The killer of Theodore Marquette. Edmund Pierce, and kidnapper of Tess was officially confirmed. Admitting to doing these crimes Kostas leaves the building with his hands up but gets shot. He is dead.
