- Gregor is doing the laundry, when his sister Boots is playing with a tennis ball and it and she falls down the hole and Gregor chases her.

- Gregor and his sister fall into an unknown land with giant cockroaches, giant bats, giant rats, and weird humans
- The Special Weapon
- The regalians (The other humans) show Gregor a prophecy that is about him called the "Prophecy of Gray"
- The regalian council helps Gregor learn how to fight and thought about the land.
- Gregor learns that his special weapon is his mind and himself
- The Abyss

- Gregor does not want to fight because he misses home and does not think of himself as a hero
- The Mastery of Two Worlds
- Gregor finds out that his dad fell down the same hole and was enslaved by the rats,so Gregor had something to fight for and defeated the Rat king and saved his dad.
