once, There were two armies that were going to battle each other. But there was only a hill separating the two.
There was one difference to the two though. The Philistines were the larger army of the two and the smaller one was the army of Saul.
A Philistine giant called Goliath had appeared on the hill and suggested a challenge.
I challenge any one of your miserable army, king or slave, to fight me!
Goliath repeated his challenge everyday on the hill for forty days and even mocked the jews.
On the side of the Jews, there was a boy named David. David was a shepherd boy who didn't fight in the battle but brothers did.
one day, Davids father told him to go take some provisions to his brothers on the battlefield. David was aware of the Phillistine Giant, Goliath, who gave his people great humiliation. This made David have a desire to killl Goliath.
David went to the camp and spoke angrily to the jew army asking why they wouldn't fight Goliath not for the riches, but rather to defend God's name and his people's pride
however David was shunned by his brother to go back to the Shepards.
Go back to the Shepards, David.
After David had went to the camp, he was told that King Saul wanted to see him and asked if he wanted to fight Goliath.David said yes and told him that he trusted in God to fight his battles. King Saul believed in him and knew he was truthful. The king took his own armor off and gave it to David so that he could fight Goliath
So brave! God bless you!
When David gets to the hill, he is mocked by Goliath about his weapon but David tells him that he came with the almighty God. As Goliath tries to kill David, David quickly slings a rock at hits Goliath right in the forehead. The rock pierces through the big giants head and Goliath falls to the ground. Then David takes his sword and cuts Goliath's head off.
After the victory for Saul's army, David became the greatest national hero.
