- Although his father was not fond of Cannaanite women, Esau visited his uncle's family and gets married for a second time to Mahalath, sister of Nebaioth and daughter of Ishmael.
- Jacob Arrives At Paddan-Aram
- Jacob is told by his father to go and find a Cannaanite woman to be his wife, so Jacob leaves and begins his journey. He reaches a good place to spend the night and gently falls asleep on a rock.
- Jacob Talks With The Shepherds
- Jacob has a dream which shows a staircse with angels leading up to the heavenly father. God speaks to Jacob saying that the land around him will belong to his desendants. He explains how he will have descendants as numerous as the stars and he will protect him wherever he may go.
- Rachel Arrives
- YOU ARE MY COUSIN!THEN KISSES RACHEL
- Jacob arrives at Paddan-Aran and sees three flocks of sheep and goats. The shepherds are standing there next to their animals until all of the flocks come, so that they can remove the rock from the well and allow the animals to drink.
- Jacb speaks the shepherds and asks if they know Laban, the grandson of Nahor. They respnd saying that they do know Laban. Then Jacob asks why they cannot water their flocks and they explain how they must wait until every animal has arrived. Jacob then sees Rachel in the distance.
- Where are you from and do you know Laban?
- We are from Haran and we do know the man you are speaking of.
- Yes! Here comes his daughter now.
- Jacob meets Rachel and moves the stone from the well so that the flocks can drink. He kisses Rachel and explains to her that they are cousins. Rachel leaves to tell her father about Jacob.
