- The Ishmaelites sold Joseph as a slave to the minister of the King of Egypt, named Potiphar. Potiphar took Joseph and made him his personal servant in his house, caring for him very much.
- The Egyptian King has a dream

- Potiphar's Wife was attracted to Joseph's beauty and asked him to go to bed with her. However, Joseph rejected her and avoided the sin against God.
- Joseph interprets the king's dream
- That makes perfect sense!
- When Joseph rejected to sleep with Potiphar's Wife, she made up a story and claimed that Joseph assaulted her. When Potiphar heard this, he was very angry with Joseph and as a result, he sent him to prison.
- Joseph is made governor
- The Egyptian King had a dream that seven thin cows ate seven fat cows. When he woke up, he was confused. So, he brought in all the magicians in town, but none of them could interpret it. The wine seller told the king of Joseph's interpretations, and the king asked to bring Joseph.

- So, Joseph was brought out of prison to interpret the king's dream. Joseph explained to the king that the thin and fat cows represent seven years of abundance for Egypt and seven years of famine and drought. The King understands perfectly and is pleased with Joseph.
- Egypt will have 7 years of prosperity and 7 years of drought
- In order to make sure that Egypt could survive the seven years of famine, the Pharaoh appointed Joseph to the second-most powerful position in the land: ruler over all of Egypt.
