- All the tributes are gathered in the gym for training. Some career tributes try to flaunt their skills, while other sit in the corner and learn to make fires. Peeta and Katniss decide to not show their core attributes, but tie knots with a trainer, who surprisingly bakes cakes for the Districts.
- As Katniss enters to impress the Game Makers with her archery skills, she casually shoots and couple perfect targets. But, they are not interested because she is one of the last tributes to go and gets angry. She notices them gravitating to the food, so out of anger she shoots the apple the roast pig had in its mouth with an arrow, stunning the Game Makers. This gets her an 11 on the ratings afterward.
- As Katniss gets ready for the interview, she gets 3 hours with each person: Heymitch, Cinna, and Effie. Effie teaches her how to properly walk in heels, although Katniss feels like she is uncomfortable and annoyed. Cinna gives her a fire red dress with jewels all over. Heymitch's job is to figure out how he wants to portray Katniss, but he cannot do it. Cinna ends up telling her to just be herself.
