Even though I failed my math test today, I know deep down I am super smart and the greatest student ever!
How Freud Sees Me
According to Karen Horney's innate male psychological trait, womb envy, is the jealously that men may feel of the biological functions of the female body; pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding etc. Here is me being jealous of women saying I wish I could give birth.
How Costa and McCrae See Me
Can you go around the room and collect papers for me?
According to Carl Rogers' humanistic theory of psychology, every person could achieve their goals, wishes, and desires in life. Here is me after failing a math test still believing in myself that I have the potential to be super smart and the best student ever.
How Adler Sees Me
I am going to be such a great leader someday!
According to Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory, the id contains sexual and aggressive drives, often thought of as "the devil on someone's shoulder". The ego is the realistic part that mediates between the desires of the id and superego. The superego is the part that acts as a morally self-critical conscience, thought of as "the angel on someone's shoulder". Here is me with a devil and angel on my shoulder, and a robot for my realistic ego.
How Bandura Sees Me
I am going to hit a homerun off of a very good pitcher!
Paul Costa and Robert McCrae came up with the "big 5" traits. Of these 5 traits, the one that most applies to myself is "agreeable". This means that I am very helpful and friendly. This is shown here by me helping Mrs. Ceh by collecting papers for her when she asks.
Sure thing Mrs. Ceh!
Alfred Adler came up with the idea that there is psychological importance of birth order. He believed that the order in which people and their siblings were birthed, impacted how they acted and certain traits they had. For example, he believed that firstborns would go on to be great leaders. I am showing that here by saying I am going to be a great leader someday since I am the firstborn and have a younger sibling.
Albert Bandura came up with the idea of Self-Efficacy. Self-Efficacy is the belief in oneself to complete certain tasks even if they are difficult or challenging. Here I am on a baseball field believing in myself stating that I am going to hit a homerun even if it is a difficult task.
