- EXT. HOUSE PORCH 1 – MORNING
- This is the story of the adventure of how a group of young people came together to support each other during a crisis of a water shortage. Based in Orange County California taking place in a time not too far in the distant future. Everyone that Alyssa and Garrett met all bring to the group a special skill or value that allows them collectively to survive and to help find their parents.
- EXT. HOUSE PORCH 2 – MORNING
- Hi, I’m happy to be a part of this story, I am in my early teens. I live next door,we are a little strange, my parents have a shelter out of town that has supplies, but we need to find a way to get there.

- EXT. HOUSE PORCH 3 – MORNING
- Hi, Sure. I am a teenager. After my parents broke up, I decided it best to live on my own as I could not choose one over the other. I live on the streets. I have always been independent and I can take care of myself. I know the streets well; I can drive a car too. I look out for myself first, but do care about others.
- Hi Jacqui. Will you tell us about you?

- Of course, I am. I’m the one that knows how to handle and find things. I have a privileged life, and even though I may still be in highschool, I am mature for my age. I know how to get things; money is power and my family has plenty of it. I like to be in charge of things too.
- Alyssa thanks them, tells the book name and authors.
