Juliets body sleeps on Capels monument
Dost thou not bring me letters from the friar? How doth my lady? Is my father well? How fares my Juliet?
News from Verona! How now, Balthasar?!
How am I going to kill myself?
Get me ink and paper and hire horses.. Thats an order
Romeo describes a recent dream in the city of Mantua. Romeo dreamt that he died and Juliet found him.
Well Juliet, I will lie in thee tonight... I do remember an Apothecary.
Balthasar tells Romeo that Juliet died.
Apothecaryy
Romeo orders Balthasar to get him ink and paper and hire horses. He plans to go to Verona that night. Balthasar advises Romeo not to act too quickly, but Romeo dismisses him. When Balthasar leaves, Romeo says to himself that he will join Juliet in death that night. He wonders how he is going to kill himself.
Let me haveA dram of poison, such soon-speeding gear. As will disperse itself through all the veins
Put this in any liquid thing you will And drink it off, and if you had the strengthOf twenty men, it would dispatch you straight.
Romeo knows that he has to kill himself and for doing that the most efficient way is by poison.
Romeo goes to the apothecary’s house and asks to buy poison. He wants something that will kill him quickly. The apothecary says he has poison, but selling it can be punished by death. Romeo knows the apothecary needs money.
Romeo pays the apothecary, takes the poison with him, and leaves to go to Juliet’s grave.
