- One summer day, Alex and Susan really wanted to go to their friends house to play. Susan was so nervous to ask her mom for permission she couldn't say the words to ask without sounding like a broken record. So, her brother Alex asked instead.
- Good morning
- "Hey mom Susan and I were just wondering If we could go to our friends house?"
- Uh um m-m-mom..
- "Sure, you two can go as long as you finish three chores from the chore jar. I need some help around the house and I would love if you two helped me clean up."
- As their mother continued to go on with her day, Alex reassured his sister about her worries.
- "It's okay Susan, we'll finish in time. Don't worry, I'll help you"
- Alex reassured Susan that the chores wouldn't take to long.
- oh, no.. What if it takes forever and ever?
- "Laundry"
- Susan quickly went into the living room and shook the chore jar to mix the labeled popsicle sticks around . As she pulled the sticks with chores out from the jar she read them out loud for Alex to hear.
- SHAKE
- "Mopping"
- "Yard work"
- Okay, you can do laundry and mop while I do the yard work..
- Well..maybe you and me can do each chore together?
- I guess I can do laundry , but I thought laundry was for girls?
- If you think about it, laundry can be done by anyone. We all need clean clothes Alex..
