- This quote means that piggy is just trying to make the best out of it being together but all Jack is trying to do is make fun of him and calling him names and Peggy is getting offended by it because he's calling him like fatty and all these hurtful names
- This quote is important to the whole story because it shows us how the boys are really treating each other it's showing us that they're not coming together as one and being nice to one another All Jack cares about is himself And not what other people's feelings are all Ralph is concerned about is getting out of there
