  • As you may know many are dealing with Covid-19 and health care workers and scientists are doing all they can.
  • Live
  • A-lot of people have suffered trying to fight the virus but luckily more have recovered than have died.
  • Public places are now empty and stores have been cleared completely.
  • We are in some of the most public places and nobody is here.
  • We're going to go live with Scientist Emma Walmsley to discuss the latest information about Covid-19.
  • Emma walmsley is the chief executive officer of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). Her and her team are working on a cure for the Covid-19.
  • Hi, I am Emma Walmsley and I am the Ceo of the Glaxosmithkline.
  • Right now in the world, there is currently over 2 million cases, 117788 deaths and 430540 recoveries that have been made.
  • We are involved with research being done all over the world right now including Newfoundland, Labrador, Canada. Dr. Srinivas Murthy is co-chair of the World Health Organization's clinical research committee.
  • What's important to note is that finding a cure for Covid-19 is unlikely but we may find drugs that will help people recover once they become infected.
  • Remember to do your part including social distancing and wash your hands for 20 seconds to help with the spread of this virus. Only go out when necessary and be sure to wear a mask and gloves.
  • Thank you sarah for inviting me.
  • No problem Emma and thank you for joining us live. Although it's tough right now to socially distance, there are some good things about being quarantined.
  • One of the good things is that there is a decrease in the rate of pollution!
  • Another good thing is that we get to spend time with our families.
  • Thank you scientists for helping in the battle of Covid-19. Thank you everyone. Remember Stay Inside and Stay Safe!
