- It was a normal day for Opal. She got up at the sound of the alarm clock for school. She got dressed and was ready for the day.

- WEATHER ALERT!!!
- She said hello to her parents and she ate breakfast. Opal had a quad burger and fries from yum yum food. She said bye to he parents and her cats, and instead of riding the bus she walked to school.

- OH NO!
- While Opal was walking it suddenly started raining. She just ignored the rain and it kept walking. It rained harder and harder until Opal decided to check the weather on her phone.
- When she looked at her phone she gasped and almost dropped it. She immediately froze with fear and didn't know what to do. Little did she know that flood water was already rising to her ankles.
- Stay inside, heavy precipitation, Flood waters have started rising.
- She dropped her back pack in the water. She had even more anxiety because all her homework and her books were in her backpack. She fretted about it until some thing distracted her. The water had raised to her knees!

- Before she could react a large wave of flood water rushed over Opal. She got water all over her clothes. She realized that she lost her backpack and the flower that was in her hair.

- Opal screamed until she lost her voice. She flailed her arms until she finally calmed down. She remembered what her teacher told her '' During a flood, if you're outside, get to higher ground ''

- When Opal knew what to do she put her mind into action. She swam until she saw a small hill. Opal crawled to the top of the hill and passed out of exhaustion.

- Opal was woken by a poke in her side and a hug. ''We couldn't find you '',''you must of been asleep for at least 4 hours''! said her Mom. Opal's parents got her up and headed for home.
