- Eckels is going to travel through time to go on a safari to shoot dinosaurs.
- Rising Action
- Time travel is dangerous , and safety is not guaranteed.
- Eckels and the rest of the crew get into the time machine and travel back sixty million, two thousand and fifty-five years ago. Travis reminds the hunters Stay on the Path. Don't go off it...for any reason.
- Falling Action

- Eckels and so amazed and frightened by the T-Rex that he is unable to shoot it. Lesperance tells Eckels to hide in the time machine, but Eckels goes the wrong way and steps off the path.
- Resolution
- The company told Eckels that time travel is not dangerous, and safety is not guaranteed.
- When the hunters return to the present, everything has changed. The president , sign, everything...
- Eckels looks down at his boots and sees a dead butterfly stuck to the bottom and they realize he has changed the future. Travis, furious, aims his weapon at Eckels and there is A Sound of Thunder.
