My Time During Quarantine

- School just shut down and now have to go into quarantine in my house!
- Why do I have to stay in the house all the time? I don't want to! I want to see my friends and go play ball at the Y!
- I go downstairs to try and ask my mom if I can go with my friends
- "X I already told you. You can't be going out right now, hanging out with your friends!"
- "Can I go play basketball with my friends?"
- She says no and then I start getting angry and we start arguing
- "X I said no. I don't care that your friends are out. I'm saying no because I don't want anyone getting sick!"
- "I don't get it! My friends can still go out so why can't I go? This isn't fair, I don't care about stupid Corona, it's not that serious!"
- My mom again tries to explain to me why she won't let me go out and why it's so important to be in quarantine for awhile
- "You might not get sick from it but then come home and give it to your sister or me and we could get very sick. I'm just trying to protect us all the best I can."
- "X please just listen to me. This virus is very serious and really contagious. We have to quarantine to stop it from spreading. If I let you just go out like normal you could get it!"
- I had to learn that this is really an important time in history. That even though I'm frustrated it is important to stay home. I also learned that I can't always do what I want.
- "It really is annoying. Let's just try to get through it as best as we can and hopefully it won't last too long."
- "Okay, okay like I get it but it's still so annoying"
