- 2. You are at school, just not the one your thinking of. This is a medieval university, where merchants provide students with housing, food, clothing, etc.
- 1. Wh..where am I? I am supposed to be at school!
- 1. Who here would like to answer the question, "What are the high and lower classes like during this period?"

- 2. Me!!! Royalty was the highest class in the Middle Ages. Kings, queens, princes, etc. This class had complete power/control over the land and people. Peasants and farmers on the other hand, were in the lowest social class during the Middle Ages. This class had small amounts of land and little to no rights!
- 3. *He-he, I am so lucky to be one of the few children who gets education*
- 1. Who here would like to say a few things about student life during the Medieval ages!

- 2. Me!!! A bell wakened students at about 5 A.M. for prayers. Students then attended classes until 10 A.M. Afternoon classes continued until 5 P.M. and students were expected to memorize what they heard (like us).
- *Also, weren't most class rooms held in a choir loft at a church?*
- 1. Good!!! Now, Who here would like to say a few things about women and children during the Medieval ages!

- 2. Me!!! Women during the Byzantine Empire were expected to pursue their “natural” gifts at home, and were viewed as weak and powerless. Children on the other hand, received hardly any education and learned mostly by "doing". Older children often looked after younger ones, and were assigned jobs according to their age.
- 1. Great job answering questions about what life was like in the Middle Ages. I am now going to send you back to your school 617,189 years into the future!!!
