- Pope Urban the II grows worried about the Muslims invading. So he rallied many Christians, lied to them by saying if they retake Jerusalem and go to war, god would forgive them for all their sins
- The Battle of Dorylaeum was the first battle in the crusades and it occurred 1097. This occurred in the city of Dorylaeum in Anatolia. The battle was between the Turks and Crusaders
- The Battle of Ascalon took place on 12 August 1099. This is considered as one of the last battles by the first crusade. It resulted in a victor with the crusaders capturing jerusalem
- This was the first battle conducted by the second crusade.The crusaders decided to attack Damascus from the west, where orchards would provide them with a constant food supply. They arrived at Darayya on 23 July. The following day, the Muslims were prepared for the attack and constantly attacked the army advancing through the orchards outside Damascus.
- The Battle of Mount Cadmus was an important battle in the second crusade. A vanguard led by Geoffrey de Rancon was recklessly placed too far ahead of their enemy. King Louis ignored that facts and moved onward. This resulted in a victory for the turks.

- The battle of Dorylaeum (1147) was the last battle in the second crusade and it consisted of multiple skirmishes and encounters. This ended the second crusade and resulted in a loss for the crusaders and a victory for the Seljucks
