Sofia hangs out with her friends every day and continues to drink alcohol. When she drinks alcohol she loses her coordination and becomes disoriented She is beginning to feel normal only if she drinks it. She also notices that she has gained some tolerance to alcohol and that she has to drink a little bit more to get the same effect as before.

During a party Sofia drinks a lot of alcohol and the next day she has a hangover. She feels miserable and depressed the next day. She also doesn’t remember anything from that night. Sofia had an important math test that day. She failed it since she couldn’t concentrate and was feeling horrible. Sofia’s friends start to worry about her and asks her to stop

In school she continues to fail her assignments. She is also kicked off the track team. She loses many of her close friends. Sofia wants to stop drinking but she can’t do it by herself. Her drinking is compulsive and she can’t control herself.
One night after binge drinking a lot of alcohol Sofia decides to go for a drive. She is very dizzy and can’t concentrate. She swerves into the wrong lane and has an accident with another car. She is in critical condition at a hospital. About 95,000 people die from alcohol related deaths every year. When she recovers she goes to her high school counselor for help and she goes into therapy to help her manage her addiction and to stop drinking.
