An issue that was encountered in the article I read was the racial segregation that was faced in public services and schools in the USA, Linda Brown was a Black third Grader in the USA, she had to walk one mile from the railroad switchyard to get to her school, however, her Father Oliver Brown did not like this, he wanted to make a change because he wanted equal rights for everyone, Hence he tried to enroll Linda into a White school but the principal refused and declined the offer.
Oliver brown got help from the head of Topeka's branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP), they took the first case to The U.S. District court
The supreme court decided that decision did not abolish segregation in other public areas, such as restaurants and restrooms, nor did it require desegregation of public schools by a specific time. It did, however, declare the segregation that existed in 21 states unconstitutional. Their case was combined with other cases that challenged school segregation in South Carolina, Virginia, and Delaware.
