- Louis XVI becomes king of France and begins his reign of terrible judgement
- My grandfather has finally died and now I get to be king! Nothing can stop me, the great Louis XVI!
- Poor people! how sad, it must be terrible living this way and having to pay taxes so I can live in luxury. The first state is awesome!
- At the time France was divided into 3 estates. the first estate was the clergy who were people running the Catholic Church. the second estate were the noblity and some members of the royal family and they paid zero taxes. finally the third estate which payed all the taxes and consisted of farmers and peasants.
- Ahh what luck I have! Being in the second state is quite a blessing.
- look at those men in the higher class with their heads held high! God if only I were in their place; then I wouldn't pay so much taxes. Im so miserable!
- This crisis occurred because of the governments unfairness with its people. Riots were caused due to people going hungry and having no money.
- Attention! we will raise taxes because we have no money; so, you guys have to pay!
- You can't do that, we barely make any money! how are we going to survive and feed ourselves?!
