Bloody Sunday, was the day of a protest where industrial workers from Russia protested for better working conditions. The Industrial workers had low wages and long working days. The soldiers fought at them, and killed 100 people and wounded 300.
The Rise of Lenin, the Bolsheviks and the October Revolution
Lenin was possibly killed from a stroke that was caused by an assassination attempt. Soon after Lenin’s death, Stalin immediately gained power of Eastern Europe.
Civil War in Russia
The March Revolution was a protest where women workers came together to strike. Soldiers were forced to shoot at rioters, but they eventually switched sides and everyone came together. This led to shortages in food and fuel.
New Economic Policy (NEP)
Lenin wanted Russia to be a communist state so that everybody and everything was equal. The Bolshevik’s also wanted a communist state, and the Bolshevik’s gained power after the October Revolution because it was the last Russian war during that period of time.
The Bolsheviks gained power, and that resulted into a civil war. The people who fought in this war were the Red Army and the White Army. The red army ended up winning, because they had more supplies and organization.
Lenin created the New Economic Policy, because the Russians were in need of rebuilding their economy’s agriculture and industry. He made this so peasants could own their own land.
