  • The theme of Appearance vs Reality can be seen in Macbeth in Act 2. When the news of King Duncan's death was announced to everyone staying at Macbeth's castle, Macbeth and especially Lady Macbeth seemed like this was brand new to them and they had no idea and were really surprised. But, the reality is, they were the ones who killed King Duncan and they are just acting like they are surprised so that they can become King and Queen.
