Abigail, I cannot go before the congregation when I know you have not been open with me. What did you do with her in the forest?
We dance, Uncle, and when you leaped out of the bush so suddenly, Betty was frightened and then she fainted. And there's the whole of it. We never conjured spirits.

You did, you did! you drank a charm to kill John Porctor's wife! You drank a charm to kill Goody Proctor!
Now look you. All of you. We danced. And Tituba conjured Ruth Putnam’s dead sisters. And that is all. And mark this—let either of you breathe a word, or the edge of a word about the other things, and I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and I will bring a pointy reckoning that will shudder you. And you know I can do it. I saw Indians smash my dear parents’ heads on the pillow next to mine, and I have seen some reddish work done at night, and I can make you wish you had never seen the sun go down! No, Betty, sit up and stop this!
Mercy and Mary, two of the girls who were in the woods with Abigail and Betty, join Abigail in Betty's chamber. Abigail explains to the girls that she only told her uncle enough to draw away suspicion and incriminate Tituba. Then Betty wakes up in a panic and reveals what Abigail did in the woods. Abigail is revealed to have drunk blood as a charm in hopes of killing Goody Proctor. Abigail then threatens the girls' lives if they were to come clean.
