October 17, 1978, 61 year old Carrol Bonnet, was found dead in his apartment in Omaha, Nebraska. He was lying down naked with a stab wound to his back.
As the Omaha police department was collecting evidence, latent fingerprints, and palm prints were found in the victim's bathroom. The victim's car which was not present at the scene was found in Illinois with latent prints of the victim as well. The case went cold, but 30 years later the police received an inquiry which led to Jerry Watson, who was serving time for burglary charges in Illinois.
