- I know this is what we want, but my grandma is really getting in my head...
- I understand honey, but we just aren't ready. We wouldn't be able to give them the life they deserve. We are only 22 and 24. Not to mention we aren't even married yet!
- It's your body, so it's your choice!
- It would be unfair for us to raise a kid.. It could cause both the child and us a lot of emotional and psychological stress..
- It's still so early, it doesn't even have sentience yet!
- Did you know that a fetus has no rights until the third trimester?
- Or Rights!
- Abortion is a very controversial topic. As of 2018, unmarried women account for 85% of all abortions (CDC,2018).
- My grandma suggested that we look into adoption...
- This is the best decision for us and the baby.. Sure, we could go through with the pregnancy and put the baby up for adoption, but you know what I went through in the foster care system and I wouldn't want that for this child.
- In a study of 1,000 women who were denied abortions, the mothers were shown to have a higher incidence of serious pregnancy complications—including eclampsia and death... They [were also] four times more likely to be living below the federal poverty level (McNees, 2021). This isn't an ideal living situation.
- We're doing the right thing, right?
- Yes, I know this is hard, but abortion isn't always a bad thing.
- In 2018, 92.2% of abortions were performed at ≤ 13 weeks’ gestation (CDC, 2020). Additionally, in 1973, the Supreme Court ruled that an unborn fetus has no constitutional rights until 24 - 28 weeks (Luhrmann, 1979).

- Nearly 428,000 children are in the foster care system in the U.S. More than 60% of those children spend up to 5 years in the system before getting adopted- and some never do (Adoption Network, 2021).
- In a 2 year study, 40% of women who underwent abortions made their decision based on financial unpreparedness, 36% on bad timing/unplanned, 31% on partner-related reasons, and 19% on emotional/mental unpreparedness. (Stacey, 2021). There are other factors to consider besides the unborn baby's potential feelings.
