- Good Question. The exchange of oxygen takes place in the Alveoli.
- The Alveoli are small air sacs where the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide take place. Capillaries are blood vessels in the walls of the Alveoli. Blood passes through the capillaries entering through the Pulmonary Artery and leaving through the Pulmonary veins.
- OK. Now let me tell you about the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide.
- Where does the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide take place?
- The red blood cells pick up oxygen in the lungs. Blood travels away from the heart and lungs through the arteries.
- Did you know that red blood cells make circuits?
